New York, Aug. 13 : A new Rasmussen Reports poll has said that over one in four Americans (26 percent) now have a better opinion of former President Bill Clinton than when he left office after he retrieved two imprisoned American journalists from North Korea.

According to Fox News, Bill Clinton also enjoyed higher favorability ratings than his wife, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Overall, 58 percent of voters said they viewed the former president favorably compared with 40 percent who had an unfavorable opinion of him.

By contrast, a Rasmussen poll released last week found that 53 percent had a favorable opinion of Secretary Clinton while another 43 percent said they had an unfavorable view of her.

For nearly two-thirds of respondents, the former president's North Korea trip did not alter their opinions - 65 percent said their opinion of him "stayed about the same" since he left office.

Another eight percent said their opinion of him was worse than before and one percent was not sure.

The automated poll of 1,000 likely voters nationwide was conducted on August 9 and 10 and has a 3-percentage-point margin of error. (ANI)
