Orissa gets a new chief justice -- for four days

Justice-Bilal-NazkiBhubaneswar, Nov 14 : Justice Bilal Nazki was Saturday sworn in as the chief justice of the Orissa High Court just four days before he retires Nov 18.

Justice Nazki, who was a judge of the Bombay High Court, was administered the oath by Governor M. C. Bhandare.

Born Nov 18, 1947 in Srinagar, Justice Nazki obtained his law degree from Aligarh Muslim University.

Prior to his elevation as an additional judge of the Jammu and Kashmir High Court in 1995, he worked as the advocate general of the state.

Justice Nazki was transferred to the Andhra Pradesh High Court in 1997 and then to the Bombay High Court in 2008.(IANS)
