Jharkhand, May 24 : An orphan, Rinkita, could never have thought that she would enjoy marital bliss. But in stepped the government of Jharkhand and organised her wedding through a unique scheme.

"Rinkita''s parents expired when she was young and since then her family condition became miserable. She had to beg to run the family. It is good to see her getting married and I haven''''t seen anything like this happening before," said Pushpa, villager.

The district collector of Garhwa believes his administration has taken up various measures to improve the standard of living of downtrodden girls like Rinkita.

"I believe that there couldn''''t be anything greater than this. The oppressed and orphan girls are getting married with the support of the media and district administration which is heart warming," said V. K Singh, District Collector.

The local administration has also distributed blankets, books for students and also set up health camps for the poor who are deprived of the basic necessities of life.

With such social initiatives taken up by the administration there is a hope for the poor villagers to lead a decent life in future. (ANI)
