Pakistan says information on Mumbai attacks shared with CIA

Pakistan says information on Mumbai attacks shared with CIAIslamabad - Pakistani Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani on Friday said the country's premier spying agency had shared the findings of its investigation into the Mumbai terrorist attacks with the American Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

"Indians have handed over a 52-page information (dossier) to the CIA. Our ISI (Inter-Services Intelligence) has given its feedback to the CIA that has been passed on to India," Gilani told reporters in Islamabad.

"The CIA and the ISI have a historical working relationship and if more information is required, we are ready to cooperate," Gilani said.

Relations between India and Pakistan have soured since the November 26 terrorist attacks that left more than 170 people dead and over 300 injured in Mumbai.

India has pressed Islamabad for stern action against a Pakistan-based militant group, Lashkar-e-Taiba, which is believed to have masterminded the siege.

On Monday, New Delhi gave Islamabad, through direct diplomatic channels between the countries, the material it claimed linked Pakistani elements to the attacks.

The information included reports on the interrogation of Ajmal Amir Qasab, the lone gunman captured during the attacks, identifying him as a Pakistani national. (dpa)
