London, Oct 5 : American singer/actress Barbra Streisand has revealed that she sprained both her thumbs while giving actor Robert De Niro a massage, during the filming of a scene for `Meet The Fockers'.

Streisand, 67, who played the part of a free-spirited sex therapist in the 2004 comedy, sprained her thumbs when De Niro asked her to forcefully knead his torso.

London, Sep 30 : American singer Barbra Streisand has decided to end her retirement from singing in order to get over the crippling stage fright she’s been stricken with for 27 years.

Streisand, 67, revealed that she has been terrified of performing ever since she forgot her lines during a free concert in New York’s Central Park in the 1980s.

And she admits she “didn’t perform again until they’d invented teleprompters” but even with the assistance of technology she has struggled to maintain her composure onstage.

Washington, Sept 25 : Doll collector Barbra Streisand’s new avatar will soon be available in a doll form, thanks to toymakers Mattel.

The limited edition doll, which was unveiled during the 67-year-old star’s recent appearance on Oprah, will hit the markets in November.

Contactmusic quoted an ecstatic Streisand as saying: "I worked on this doll very hard.

“The slit (in the dress) was at the back, (it) had to go on the side; the fabric; the bow had to be limp, it couldn''t be straight." (ANI)

Washington, August 24 : American singer-actress Barbra Streisand, 67, has revealed that she likes to wear trousers with elastic waists rather than ball gowns, as she prefers feeling comfortable to looking glamorous.

“I always wear the same thing at home. I can''t be bothered with jewellery. My pants have elastic waists. I like to be comfortable. There are so many more important things to worry about,” Contactmusic quoted her as saying.

New York, Aug 22 : Singer Barbra Streisand's ex-boyfriend will soon have three recordings of her earliest performances auctioned.

Barry Dennen, who claims to have convinced her to become a singer, had made the tapes almost 50 years ago.

It includes the actress singing "A Taste of Honey" and "Two Brothers" in Dennen''s apartment, with him accompanying on guitar.

London, August 8 : Barbra Streisand has handed out more than 400 personal items to go under the hammer in New York.

The singer donated items including performance costumes, paintings, furniture and other collectables that will be put on display in Newbridge, Co Kildare, Ireland, in September while the sale will be held in October.

Proceeds from the auction are to benefit her charity, the Streisand Foundation, that helps women''s, children''s, environmental and political causes.

Her record label Columbia Records has revealed that the album is Streisand''s first full-length collection of new studio recordings since 2005''s `Guilty Pleasures', and her first album since `Live In Concert 2006'.

“W.” is an American biographical film based on the life and presidency of George W. Bush, directed by Oliver Stone.

Brolin revealed that when he told Streisand the news, she freaked out.

“She said: ‘How much are you getting paid?’ I told her it was a very low fee. She said, ‘Then why are you doing it?’” the New York Post quoted him as telling The Times of London.
