London, Oct 23 : Olivia Newton-John has said that she feels sorry for Britney Spears being constantly in the limelight because the amount of press coverage received by stars nowadays is unprecedented.
The 61-year-old actress was propelled to stardom after her turn in 1978 movie Grease and graced the covers of magazines worldwide.
And Newton-John is grateful that she refused to take her pin-up status seriously at the time, and claims the decision kept her grounded.
But she pities Spears, who found fame as a teenager in the late 1990s.

London, Aug 30 : Actress Olivia Newton-John’s ex boyfriend who had gone missing in 2005 has now been found in a Mexican village.
Patrick McDermott was apparently working on a fishing boat in Sayulita under the name of Patrick Kim when investigators working for US TV channel NBC found him.
He had disappeared during a sea-fishing trip near Los Angeles, following which police spent months searching for him, reports the Daily Express.
Giving up hope, Newton-John married her second husband, John Easterling, in June last year.

London, Aug 11 : Olivia Newton-John''s former lover Patrick McDermott, who was presumed to be dead, has reportedly resurfaced.
He reportedly wrote a letter requesting investigators to leave him alone.
The man had disappeared on a 2005 fishing trip, but has now faxed a message to U. S. private detectives asking them to let him live in peace in Mexico, the Daily Star reports.

Melbourne, Apr 29 : Singer Olivia Newton-John says she still believes her missing boyfriend is alive.
The 60-year-old singer's lighting technician beau of nine years Patrick McDermott mysteriously disappeared during a fishing trip in 2005.
However, in an interview Australian Women''s Weekly, Newton-John said she is still unconvinced that her lover is dead.
"I think there will always be a question mark," the Herald Sun quoted her as saying.

The Mediterranean-style mansion consists of 4 bedrooms and 7 bathrooms, a pool, a spa and a two-bedroom guesthouse, reports The Daily Telegraph.
Newton bought the house in 2004 for 8.8million dollars from the widow of actor Charles Bronson.

The heartbroken celebrity couple bade their 16-year-old Jett a final goodbye after the teenager died from a seizure during a family holiday in the Bahamas on January 2.
The singer expressed her sorrow over the tragedy and urged the media to respect the family's privacy.

Melbourne, Nov 22 : English born pop singer Olivia Newton-John’s boyfriend Patrick McDermott most likely drowned at sea during a fishing trip, US investigators say.
The investigation carried out by the US Coast Guard suggests that McDermott could have survived in the ocean for 14 hours, and that he could have been rescued had the crew of the vessel realised he was missing sooner.
The investigation report, obtained via a Freedom of Information Act application, also revealed what the Coast Guard had refused to divulge regarding the disappearance of McDermott.

London, Nov 14 : Hollywood actress Olivia Newton-John, who just celebrated her 60th birthday, has revealed her secret to staying so young-looking –her recent marriage.
Newton, who has gone through a lot, including cancer, divorce, the disappearance of her partner and her daughter’s anorexia, married health guru John Easterling, 56, in June this year in a mountaintop ceremony in Peru.
“I guess I’m lucky, genetically, I’m like my mum and she looked great right up until her death in 1989,” The Mirror quoted Newton, as saying.
