Philippine shares slide for second day amid US economy concerns

Manila - Philippine share prices slid 2.88 per cent on Wednesday amid lingering worries over the US economy, the country's largest trading partner.
The Philippine Stock Exchange's 30-share composite index lost 72.42 points to close at 2,441.75 from Tuesday's finish of 2,514.17.
A total of 2.41 billion shares valued at 3.89 billion pesos (81.04 million dollars) were traded.
Losers outpaced gainers 104 to 13, with 34 issues unchanged.
On Tuesday, the local market plunged 3.77 per cent, dragged down by losses on Wall Street and Asian bourses.(dpa)
