Phoenix Technologies announces Rs 100 crore investment plans in IndiaPhoenix Technologies Ltd, an embedded technologies and service provider, has chalked out Rs 100 crore investment plans for its Bangalore-based Development Centre, over the next few years. Besides, the headcount at the center, initially having a work force of 60 people, would be also doubled within the next 6 month for supporting local and global R&D products.

Woody Hobbs, Phoenix&aposs President and CEO, said: "Phoenix, which has invested Rs 40 crore in India since the start of operations in 2005, expects to invest Rs 100 crore in its Development Centre here in the next few years and ramp up the Centre & aposs strength to 120 in a month & aposs time." He said that the firm may develop products like HyperSpace in India subjected to getting right specifications.

The company, also having centers in San Jose, Taipei, Seattle, Portland, and Boston, has also announced its decision to add new functions, such as product architecture and management, at the center. Kirthiga Reddy, Phoenix's vice president and general manager for India, said that Phoenix has already been serving PC vendors and ODMs (original design manufacturers) from the center.
