Australian all-rounder Andrew Symonds has revealed reason for which he was sent back from England during ICC T20 World Cup last month.
Symonds returned late after drinking pints of beer while watching rugby match between NSW and Queensland at a pub which became reason for dumping him from the Australian squad for the ICC T20 World Cup.
Cricket Australia had said Symonds had breached an alcohol-related team agreement due to which he was axed from the Australian squad.
But Symonds, who refused to be alcoholic, said that he was lucky to play for Australian team and he still wants to play for them but he drank as he was feared a mental breakdown as he was unable to resist the pressure of being a star performer.
Symonds has been still hopeful to play for the Australian team even after his central contract has been cancelled by the Cricket Australia which has been offered to Australian fast bowler Shaun Tait now.
