PM urges Pakistan to do something concrete

Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh, speaking at a function in Rajasthan, ruled out possibilities of any composite dialogue with Pakistan adding that atmosphere is not conductive for such talks to be held.

Lashing out some elements in Pakistan who are stumbling blocks for peace between two nations, Dr. Singh urged Pakistan to reign these elements for both countries to go ahead with peace process.

Dr. Singh added, "I want our relations to improve. If relations between India and Pakistan improve, a lot of things can happen."

In the mean time, India will not send Foreign Secretary Nirupama Rao for talks with her Pakistani counterpart in New York in September. The country asked for concrete actions against terrorist outfits in Pakistan that can prove its credibility and satisfy India.

Pakistani Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, meanwhile, said that it has acted against terrorists by heart and soul, asking more credible evidence against Lashkar Chief Hafiz Saeed, the main accused in the Mumbai 26/11 terror attacks.
