Ludhiana, Dec 5 - Police in this largest city of Punjab fired in the air and lobbed tear gas on Sikh protesters who tried to disrupt a religious conference of controversial sect leader Ashutosh Maharaj here Saturday.

At least 10 vehicles, including of the police, were damaged by the protesters on the Ludhiana-Chandigarh road.

Conservative Sikhs oppose the teachings of Ashutosh Maharaj. (IANS)
