Ponzi King Madoff had flings with numerous secretaries

Ponzi King Madoff had flings with numerous secretariesNew York, Aug. 18 : Jailed Ponzi King Bernie Madoff had flings with numerous secretaries that frequently ended with hush-hush settlements, according to Jerry Oppenheimer''s new book, "Madoff With the Money."

The New York Post quotes a female veteran Madoff employee telling Oppenheimer that "He had affairs in the office. There were two women I know of. They were gorgeous. They were blond. They were young. They were like baby Ruths -- the same type as Ruth, with the same hair color and eye color."

Another Madoff insider said, "Ruth (his wife) told him to stop [playing around], but he started having affairs all over the place," adding that Madoff would often give his girls cards with his private cellphone number on them.

One young secretary even netted a 250,000 dollar payoff to keep quiet, according to Oppenheimer.

Ruth Madoff could not be reached for comment.

Last week, it was reported that the chief financial officer of the Hadassah, a Jewish volunteer organization, had a rip roaring affair with Madoff in the late 1990s, which in turn helped him to siphon off millions of dollars from its members.

According to the charity, it invested 40 million dollars with Madoff by the late 1990s and had also taken over 130 million dollars from its Madoff accounts and still had millions on the books when the vast Ponzi scheme was exposed last December.

What the charity did not know was that its CFO Sheryl Weinstein made those investments while having an affair with Madoff.

Weinstein, who has been married for 37 years, now reveals that relationship in her memoir titled "Madoff's Other Secret: Love, Money, Bernie, and Me," which is scheduled for publication by St. Martin's Press at the end of August.

Hadassah's national president, Nancy Falchuk, told Hadassah's national board in a letter on Thursday that the group was "shocked to hear about Weinstein's personal admission. (ANI)
