Princess Diana’s dresses to go under the hammer

Princess-Diana-dressNew York, Feb 22 : Late Princess Diana’s Luxe velvet and bejewelled evening gowns are set to be auctioned in London on March 19.

The ten iconic dresses includes, the inky blue gown the late Princess of Wales wore when dancing across the White House dance floor with John Travolta in 1985, the New York Daily News reported.

According to the auction house, the midnight blue gown by Victor Edelstein is expected to fetch between 305K dollars and 455K dollars.

The lot will also contain several Catherine Walker designs, including the beaded, black velvet gown Diana wore for a 1997 Vanity Fair photo-shoot, and the sea green, sequined number she wore for the State visit to Austria in
1989.

The collection of iconic pieces was sold once before in New York in 1997, months before the princess’ tragic car crash death in Paris.

The Kelly Taylor Auctions expects each item in the “Fit for a Princess” collection to go for between 35K dollars and 350K dollars. (ANI)
