Melbourne, Dec. 31: South Africa has vowed to maintain the pressure on Australia during the third Test at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG), which begins on Saturday.

Injured vice-captain Ashwell Prince revealed today the triumphant tourists had a "proper party last night" to celebrate their series-clinching nine-wicket win at the MCG, but warned that the psychological edge over Ricky Ponting''s team would be maintained going into the return three-Test series in South Africa starting in February.

"We''ve come a long way as a team. We''ve won in most countries over the last 12-18 months. The only place we didn''t win (the series) in was India, but we came away with a draw (1 win, 1 loss, 1 draw), " the Sydney Morning Herald quoted Prince, as saying.

"The guys are very confident of their own ability and very proud obviously of what we have achieved and we''re looking forward to building on that and going from strength to strength. The captain (Graeme Smith) said Australia set the standard over the last decade and obviously we don''t want to go on a dip after just winning one series. We want to sustain that sort of performance for a long time," he added.

Middle-order batsman Prince rated himself a 60-40 chance of being available to make his first appearance of the series after missing the first two Tests with a broken thumb.

But he admitted he was not certain of being selected if fit following the heroics of his young replacement J P Duminy in both Perth and Melbourne.

"I think we all knew what caliber JP Duminy brings to the team and he didn''t disappoint and all credit to him," said Prince.

"I think the way he handled himself in both the first and second Tests was superb for a young guy in his debut series." (ANI)
