Qantas opens new passenger lounge at Changi

Qantas opens new passenger lounge at ChangiQantas Airways Ltd, leading Australian carrier, has opened a new lounge at Singapore's Changi airport for its passengers.

The new lounge will cater to premium passengers on its new dedicated Singapore services and will offer features 460 seats, 20 showers, 80-inch television screens and technology pods. The company will also offer a dining area with a live cooking station, a bar and mattresses and duvets for passengers wanting to sleep at the airport.

Simon Hickey CEO of Qantas International said, "This multi-million dollar investment is part of our broader commitment to improve the experience we offer on services to and from Asia, including our A330 upgrades to begin next year."

The company said that the new lounge is part of the its plans to expand it's expand its presence in the region and is in line with the new schedule that shows Singapore as the hub in the region. Hickey said that Qantas is now offering improved services from Singapore to other Asian destinations.

Meanwhile, Qantas is also re-routing all its services to European destinations through Dubai as a part of its drive to increase its presence in Asia. The company has decided to remove food containing alcohol or pork on its new flights through Dubai. The move has attracted a lot of criticism from people in the social networking site.
