London  - Britain's Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip are to pay a visit to Bermuda in November to mark the 400th anniversary of the island's settlement and then travel on to Trinidad and Tobago, Buckingham Palace said in London Monday.

The royal couple's visit to Bermuda will take place November 24- 26. The following day, the queen will open the 2009 Commonwealth Heads of Government meeting in Trinidad and Tobago.

Bermuda is celebrating the 400th anniversary of its settlement that began when a British ship was wrecked off the island in 1609 and the crew landed on the Atlantic outpost.(dpa)
