Queen to miss Commonwealth Games in India

Prince-CharlesIt has been informed that the Queen will not attend the Commonwealth Games to be held in the month of October this year in India. The Queen is the head of the Commonwealth.

Spokesperson form Buckingham Palace has confirmed this fact. It has also informed that Prince Charles will represent the Royal Family instead of the Queen.

However, the Queen has been associated with this grand event for past several years. This will be the first time in last ten years that she will not participate in Commonwealth Games. She used to attend either the opening or closing ceremony of the event.

The Buckingham Palace has informed that because of the volume of her engagements in October, the Queen will not able to be present at the ceremony this time.

The opening ceremony of the event will take place on 3rd of October and 71 nations will take part in this event. This is going to be a grand event on the soil of India. It will be the biggest multi-sport event in India after the Asian Games in the year 1982.
