Rahul in Shimla to strengthen party wings

Rahul-GandhiAll India Congress General Secretary (AICC), Rahul Gandhi is visiting Shimla on Tuesday to impress upon youth in the hill state. It is his first visit to Shimla as the general secretary.

There is much enthusiasm in the Congress cadres in the state ahead of his visit, which is also linked with the objective of giving a push to NSUI ranks.

Straight after alighting at Jubbarhatti airport, 25 kilometers away from Shimla, in morning hours from a chartered flight Rahul will drive to the Mall to address media, as per schedule.

"Then, he will visit the Congress Bhawan and address general house of Pradesh Congress Committee and frontal organizations of NSUI, Youth Congress and Sewa Dal. Vital issues concerning party at the national and state level would be discussed there.

"The objective is to strengthen the party," said state Congress chief, Kaul Singh Thakur.

Later in the day, Rahul Gandhi will interact with students at Himachal Pradesh University campus in a open, said Thakur.

In the afternoon, Rahul would fly to Dharamsala to have another session of informal chat with students in lower regions of the state.

Rahul would be accompanied by AICC secretary and MP Meenakshi Natrajan and All India NSUI president Hivi Hidden in Shimla.
