London, Dec 3 : Besides people’s lives, the global credit crunch has left a mark on this year’s Christmas greetings too— cards wishing people a “Great Depression” are flying off the shelves in Britain.
And ‘crunch’ greeting cards, available in various designs, are proving a festive bestseller, reports The Sun
One such card feature 1930s photos including a man eating free grub with the slogan: “I hope you like soup.”
Another with an OAP in the cold says: “I sold my spleen to pay my mortgage.”
Artist Andrew Shaffer said: “Humour is essential to make it through tough times.” (ANI)
