Abdullah bin Zayed instructs UAE Embassy in Thailand to ensure security of UAE nationals

Dhabi, Nov. 27th, 2008 --UAE Foreign Minister HH Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan has issued instructions to the UAE Embassy in Bangkok to take immediate procedures to protect the UAE nationals in Thai capital Bangkok.
An official source at the ministry said Sheikh Abdullah has issued directives to the embassy to provide appropriate accommodation and other material assistance to those in need, as well as facilitate their return home.
Minister receives US Ambassador

Dhabi, Nov. 24, 2008 -- Social Affairs Minister, Mariam Mohammed Khalfan Al Roumi, received at her office here today US Ambassador, Richard Olson and discussed with him ways to boost joint cooperation in various social areas and sharing of experience between the two sides.
The US Ambassador praised Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak for the great success of the 2nd Arab Women's Organisation Conference, which was held in Abu Dhabi recently.

Dhabi, Nov 19th, 2008 : President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Egyptian President Mohammed Hosni Mubarak asserted their keenness for activating the joint Arab work and coordination and mutual consultation on every issue concerning the Arabs and Muslims.
Holding official talks at the Al Mushrif Palace here today, the two leaders stressed the importance of achieving a joint vision regarding all issues of the Arab and the Muslim nations.

DUBAI, Nov. 18th, 2oo8: Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has received the chairman of Citigroup Inc. Sir Winfried Franz Wilhen "Win" Bischoff.
During the meeting which reviewed the current global financial and economic situation and efforts to curb repercussions, Bischoff said international investors and financial institutions have great confidence in the UAE financial markets and system.
This confidence, he remarked, is the defence line which protects markets and attracts new investors.

PARIS, Nov. 18th, 2008: The Director-General of UNESCO, Koichiro Matsuura and representative of H. H Dr Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, UAE Supreme Council member and ruler of Sharjah Abdullah Al Owais awarded the 2008 Sharjah Prize for Arab Culture to Egyptian Professor Gaber Asfour and Portuguese author Adalberto Alves in a ceremony in the Organization's Headquarters in Paris.
Present at the ceremony were UAE Ambassador to France Abdullah Al Ameri as well as members of the diplomatic corps in Paris, Matsura said the Award.
Ajman Ruler receives Brazilian ambassador

AJMAN, Nov. 18th, 2008: His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, UAE Supreme Council member and ruler of Ajman today received Brazilian Ambassador to UAE Raol Castro who was paying a courtesy visit to mark the start of his tenure in the UAE.
The meeting dealt with ways to further promote relations between the two countries.

DHABI, Nov. 18th, 2008: Sheikh Nahyan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research received participants at the recent conference on "Electronic Media: Challenges and Opportunities" and the Global Space Technology Forum, both recently held in Abu Dhabi.
The meeting reviewed the goals of the two gatherings.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Nahyan received the head of Special Olympics International who is on a current visit to the UAE.
