RSS asks Advani to decide new Leader of Opposition

RSS leader Ram MadhavNew Delhi, May 17 : The Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) on Sunday asked senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Lal Krishna Advani to decide the next Leader of Opposition.

"Whatever decision is to be taken on who should be the Leader of Opposition has to be taken by Advani himself and the party. The Sangh will have no specific views on this issue," RSS leader Ram Madhav told reporters here.

Madhav, however, added that the RSS would provide its support to the BJP whatever required.

When asked about the need for a young leadership in the BJP on the lines of the Congress, Madhav said the party will have to analyse the results and then take decisions at the right time.

"Lok Sabha results are not up to the expectations of the party or the Sangh. The party will have to analyse the results and then take decisions at the right time," Madhav added.

Madhav denied the reports that the RSS had formed a committee to analyse the Lok Sabha results, saying the Sangh does not have the capability to go into the reasons for the defeat.

"The BJP is in politics with the expectation that it will come to power," he added. (ANI)
