Russia eyeing to sign $10 billion contracts with India

russia-indiaIndia may be going in for signing deals worth $10 billion, if the announcements made by Russia become true.

Said Sergei Sobyanin, Deputy to the Prime Minister of Russia, Vladimir Putin to Reuters that during Putin's visit the plans are going to be discussed.

As per the details given by him, the deals will be done in various verticals. It would include the artillery segment, the fertilizer segment, area of fuels mostly petrol and will also consider nuclear reactors.

Sobyanin informed that Russia believes that the co-operation between the two countries will soon surpass the $10 billion target given by him. He is the person who also heads the Indo-Russian inter-government commission.

If done, this will be a step ahead in the way of plans of Russia, which is looking forward to increase the volumes of trade between the two countries and make it reach $20 billion by 2015.

He also informed that India's largest oil producing company, ONGC has shown keen interest in developing an oil field in Yamal peninsular, Russia,

It is already in talks with Russia's Gazprom over the issue.
