Samsung launches ‘Jitterbug J’ in redThe No. 1 mobile phone provider in the U. S, Samsung Mobile has announced the launch of Jitterbug J in Red in collaboration with the company that specializes in innovative wireless services, Jitterbug. The mobile phone in red is in support of the ‘Go Red For Women’ movement from the American Heart Association.

Jitterbug and Samsung Mobile is involved in an initiative to encourage women to speak up against heart disease. The red color for Jitterbug J or A310 mobile is a part of that initiative.

Jitterbug J in Red also features health and wellness services and applications. Through the application “Daily Health Tips”, the American Heart Association directly sends heart-healthy tips to the mobile and LiveNurse service connects customers to 24-hour registered nurses offering medical advice and support.

Jitterbug J in Red is an easy-to-use device with simple menu navigation system and instant access to features by using basic yes/no questions. A loud speakerphone with padded ear cup, and a large display of 2.1-inch TFT LCD inside with a 176 x 220 pixel resolution and a smaller 1.07-inch screen with 262K colors on the outside and keypad are other features. The weight of the handset is 4.06 ounces. It also features Bluetooth connectivity.

The two companies have also pledged upto $500,000 based on handset sales in donation for supporting the movement.

The Jitterbug Wellness Call is also launched by the company on CES 2010. Jitterbug Wellness Call is a new service to give personalized motivation and coaching so as to develop customer’s physical and mental health.

Dr. Brian Alman, Ph. D. is the health expert, who helped develop the wellness program. The users will get a four to five minute call twice a week on the time decided by them.
