Dhaka, May 13 : A four-day retrospective of films by legendary director Satyajit Ray begins Friday to commemorate his 90th birth anniversary.

The opening day films will be "Ghare Baire" and "Aranyer Din Ratri", New Age said.

His other popular movies such as "Pather Panchali", "Jalsha Ghar", "Charulata", "Hirak Rajar Deshe" and "Jana Aranya" are also scheduled to be screened during the retrospective.

Ray, who made films mostly in Bengali, won numerous awards at Cannes and Venice, an Oscar for lifetime achievement, as also many Indian national awards.

The Indian High Commission and dthe Indira Gandhi Culture Centre have jointly organised the retrospective. (IANS)
