SC rejects Amarinder Singh''s petition against Prakash Singh BadalNew Delhi, May 14: The Supreme Court on Thursday dismissed Congress leader Captain (retired) Amarinder Singh's petition, which requested a shift of the trial of corruption cases against Punjab Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal and his family members outside the State.

A Bench headed by Chief Justice K. G. Balakrishnan stated that by the material placed on record, Singh had not made out a case that there was a reasonable apprehension of getting justice if the trial was held in the state.

Amarinder Singh had sought the transfer of case again Badal and his family from a special court in Mohali in Punjab to any other State.

The case against Badal, his wife and son Sukhbir Singh Badal was registered in 2002 when Amarinder Singh was the chief minister.
