Shahid, you must be enjoying your stardom, right?

You know I have been asked this question so many times and I always wonder that yaar, how can I start shouting - 'Haan bhai, look at me, I am a superstar'. That would be so stupid, isn't it? Arrey, I have a long way to go before I can be termed as a superstar. There is so much more for me to do and then people to decide if I really fit the bill. It is a long journey.

So how do you wish to traverse this journey?

It's as simple as this- I have to work for many more years to come. I am 28 today. Tomorrow when I am 50 years old, have done at least one remarkable film a year and resultantly have a repertoire of a couple of dozen good films to boast of, perhaps then this entire superstar title would still look good.

The journey has been quite eventful it seems. For someone who started off as a dancer in Shiamak Davar's troupe, today you are in the run for Top-5 actors.

Yes, I am very proud of every day that I have spent in reaching the kind of position that I enjoy today. It feels good when I look back at all the challenges that I faced while addressing an entire world out there. It has been a long and a really emotional journey indeed.

Well, one can pretty much sense that in the way you are describing the entire state of affairs.

The thing is that now I know what I want to achieve and how I could achieve that. There are so many ways to do things and then there is one way which is right. I am trying to become good in finding that one way. But yes, in this entire journey, I am now finally at ease with myself. -Sampurn Media
