Six railway staff run over by train near FaridabadPalwal (Haryana), Nov 3 : At least six railway personnel were killed Tuesday evening when a passenger train ran over them at Asawati station near Palwal town, 60 km from New Delhi.

Another worker was seriously injured in the incident.

The railway gangmen were returning after finishing repair work on the tracks when they did not realise that a train was coming on the same track, and they were run over. Light was failing when the accident took place.

Northern railway chief public relations officer (CPRO) Anand Swaroop told IANS that the accident took place around 6.30 p. m.

"The railway workers were returning to headquarters after finishing their work. They were walking on the track which they should not have done. Six of them were killed and one was injured," Swaroop said.

Six people, including a child and two women, were killed near Pataudi town in Gurgaon district Tuesday morning when the New Delhi-Ajmer Shatabdi ran over them. The incident led to the Shatabdi being stranded at the spot for over five hours as agitated people did not let it leave.(IANS)
