Ace Bollywood playback singer Sonu Niigaam has composed an anthem for Mumbai's police force to admire the courage of both the security staff and the average resident of Mumbai.
Penned by Subbu, the anthem, which has been made as part of the police operation called Abhedya (Invincible) Mumbai, has been sung by 15 top-notch singers of the Hindi film industry including Alka Yagnik, Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan, Talat Aziz, Kunal Ganjawala, Mahalaxmi Iyer, Richa Sharma, Shankar Mahadevan, Kailash Kher, Roop Kumar Rathod and Hariharan.
Titled 'Ungli uthe to, koi bare to, kardegi bagawat Mumbai', the opening lines of the song have been sung by Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan.
In a declaration, Subbu said, "This song means a lot to me first as a Mumbaikar and then as the lyricist. Working with Sonu was an awesome experience and Mr. Bachchan opening the song was a dream! I am glad we all got together to create Mumbai's first anthem. I hope people like our effort."
The song was released on 'BIG 92.7 FM' on the eve of 26/11.
On this occasion, Mr. Nirupam Sonu, Sr. vice president - BIG 92.7 FM stated, "BIG 92.7 FM salutes the spirit and dedication of Mumbai police and Mumbaikars. We believe music works as a healer. I sincerely thank Subbu, Sonu Niigaam and all the other artists who contributed to create a masterpiece like this."
The anthem will spread the message of safety, unity and harmony amongst Mumbaikars. The upcoming next phase of this movement is a big star studded musical affair in Mumbai. BIG Events is managing this event for Mumbai Police.
