Aston Villa sign Spanish defender Cuellar

London - Aston Villa completed the signing of Spanish defender Carlos Cuellar for 7.8 million pounds (15 million dollars) from Glasgow Rangers.
The 26-year-old signed a four-year deal after Villa took advantage of a release clause in his contract with the Scottish club.
Cuellar, who is Villa's seventh signing this summer, passed a medical on Tuesday.
"My ambition has always been to play for Spain and I believe that playing in the biggest league in the world will help me realize that," Cuellar said. (dpa)
