Australia might tour Pakistan twice in 2008

Melbourne, Mar. 13: Australia might tour Pakistan twice in 2008The Australian cricket team may still tour Pakistan twice this year.

As the defending champions of the Champions Trophy, Australia will have to visit Pakistan, as the International Cricket Council has confirmed that Pakistan would host the tournament in October this year.

According to news. com. au, the Pakistan Cricket Board has also suggested the month of November as a possible period for holding the postponed Test and one-day series against Australia.

Speaking from Dubai, the ICC's president-elect, David Morgan, said the Champions Trophy would be played in Pakistan, as scheduled.

According to the PCB's chief operating officer, Shafqat Naghmi, the PCB has looked at the international schedule and all of the other factors, and think either November this year or March next year would be a good time for the tour to go ahead.

Though disappointed with Cricket Australia’s decision to postpone the tour without conducting a safety inspection, Naghmi was hopeful the Australians would consider the proposed new tour dates in good faith. (ANI)
