Australia works out on best ‘blend of players’ for T20 World Cup

Australia works out on best ‘blend of players’ for T20 World CupSydney, Feb 4 : Australia is working on finding the best blend of players for the upcoming Twenty20 World Cup in Sri Lanka this September. The Australian team utilized the two Twenty20 matches against India to experiment with various players in different positions, as much as to win them.
Australian Twenty20 captain George Bailey said he was disappointed with his team's loss in the second T20 match, but it was more important to try out different players in different positions. "It was more important in the lead up to the T20 World Cup later this year that the team experimented. One of the things we wanted to get out of the week was trying a few different people in different spots," the Herald Sun quoted Bailey, as saying.
Bailey was particularly happy with wicketkeeper Matthew Wade's performance and believes he will get more chance to bat at the top of the order or in the middle order. "Going forward Wadey (Matthew Wade) is going to have opportunities at the top and in the middle. Even tonight, I thought it was really pleasing that he showed he could achieve it in both areas.
That just gives us another option at different times," he added. He said the return of some crucial players would force them to decide the roles they are going to play in the team during the Twenty20 World Cup. "We''ve also got some players out, Shane Watson, Mike Hussey, Pat Cummins. At some stage we have to knuckle down not only the guys that you want but also the areas, the roles you want them to play," he further added. (ANI)
