Barcelona sign Brazilian defender Henrique

Madrid - Spanish giants Barcelona have signed defender Henrique from Palmeiras, according to Marca and Sport on Saturday.

The two papers claim that Barca will pay Palmeiras around eight million euros (12.60 million dollars)for the 21 year-old central defender, whose full name is Henrique Adriano Buss.

Henrique - already a full international for Brazil - is all set to become Barca's fifth summer signing, after Seydou Keita (Sevilla), Gerard Pique (Manchester United), Martin Caceres (Villarreal) and Daniel Alves (Sevilla), according to the reports.

Henrique will sign a five-year contract contract with Barca, but may be loaned out to another Liga club in order to gain experience of Spanish football. (dpa)
