Hamburg - Bayern Munich came from two goals down at home to Vfl Wolfsburg to eventually run out easy 4-2 winners Saturday as Juergen Klinsmann's side continued their Bundesliga recovery.

A Grafite penalty and a goal from Edin Dzeko put Felix Magath's side in early command against his former club but Franck Ribery began the revival that was completed by second-half goals from Mark van Bommel, substitute Tim Borowski and Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The win moves Klinsmann's Munich up to fourth place on 15 points, three behind leaders Bayer Leverkusen, who defeated Cologne 2-0 in the Friday night game.

Hamburg remain in second spot on 17 points ahead of their clash Sunday against third-placed Hoffenheim while Schalke lie fifth, one point adrift of Bayern, after only managing a scoreless draw at home to a ten-man Arminia Bielefeld

Wolfsburg twice came close to opening the scoring through Jonathan Santana at the Allianz Arena but Bayern goalkeeper Michael Rensing tipped the Paraguay international's first effort around a post while the striker blasted his second opportunity over the bar.

However, Magath's side deservedly went in front on the half-hour mark through a Grafite penalty after Bayern defender Martin Demichelis was adjudged to have fouled Dzeko in the area.

Dzeko doubled Wolfsburg's lead on 33 minutes before Ribery pulled one back eight minutes later with a shot from outside the area.

Klinsmann replaced Massimo Oddo with Borowski for the second half and his offensive tactics paid quick dividends as van Bommel equalized on 54 minutes with a header after Wolfsburg goalkeeper Diego Benaglio could only block Miroslav Klose's effort.

Magath brought on Christian Gentner for Makoto Hasebe and the midfielder should have equalized on the hour mark but hesitated for too long when clear in front of the Bayern goal, allowing Demichelis enough time to clear his goalbound effort.

Three minutes later, Bayern's comeback was complete as Borowski fired the home side in front and Schweinsteiger ensured the win by making it 4-2 by tapping home 10 minutes from time.

"The morale was excellent," said Klinsmann. "We are moving step by step towards the top."

Werder Bremen lost ground on the leaders after drawing 1-1 with Hanover 96.

Former Bremen player Christian Schulz headed the home side in front after nine minutes but Hugo Almeida equalized for Thomas Schaaf's side with a delicious lob four minutes from the break.

"We should have won with the amount of goal chances we had," said Bremen midfielder Torsten Frings. "We were the better team for long periods."

Energie Cottbus remain bottom of the table despite a brace from Dimitar Rangelov that put the eastern German side two goals in front against Eintracht Frankfurt.

Michael Fink reduced the deficit for Frankfurt before second-half efforts from Martin Fenin and Nikos Liberopoulos gave Friedhelm Funkel's side a 3-2 win.

Borussia Moenchengladbach gave their chances of Bundesliga survival a boost as a second-half goal from Patrick Paauwe secured a 1-0 victory over SC Karlsruhe.

While Hamburg and Hoffenheim meet Sunday with the winner assured of top spot, VfB Stuttgart entertain VfL Bochum and Borussia Dortmund welcome Hertha Berlin. (dpa)
