London, Jan 16 : Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez has said that he will not walk out of the beleaguered club and will stay until 2014.
Benitez, who signed a five-year deal last March, is under fire after the club’s season plummeted to a new low after they crashed out of the FA Cup.
“Leaving has never gone through my head - clearly I want to fight. I signed a long-term contract and have belief in this club. Inside, I am as strong as ever,” The Sun quoted Benitez, as saying.
The Reds have been ousted out of the Champions League, Premier League title race and now the FA Cup after losing to Championship strugglers Reading 2-1.
However, Benitez has vowed to fight on, and said: “Everyone knows the team''s not playing at the level it can. When we lose, everyone loses - the fans, the players, the staff. I can understand the fans'' frustrations, but we feel the same. We want to win for them.”
“As for my future, all I will say is that my future is against Stoke - I have to be ready for the next game,” he added. (ANI)
