London, Jan 13 - Manchester City striker Craig Bellamy has been arrested and bailed on suspicion of assault, media reports said Wednesday.
The Wales international, who is on loan at Cardiff City, was taken into custody at around 2.45 a. m. Sunday, after two men were injured in an early morning incident on Caroline Street in Cardiff.
The men, aged 20 and 26, sustained facial injuries.
A South Wales police spokesman said: "A 31-year-old man has today been arrested on suspicion of assault and has been bailed pending further inquiries."
Police typically do not identify suspects by name.
A Cardiff spokesman said the club is "aware of the reported incident involving one of our players last weekend".
"We ... feel it would be inappropriate to comment while an ongoing police investigation is under way," he added. (IANS)
