Brett Lee says `Men in Blue’ are his best buddies off the field

Australian fast bowler Brett LeeMelbourne, Feb. 26: Australian fast bowler Brett Lee has claimed that overall there is a close relationship between his team and the Indian team.

Admitting that there had been controversial incidents during the Test and one-day tri-series, Lee said that while the Australian objective is to mentally disintegrate their opponents, they had not crossed the line and had always acted "in the right spirit of the game".

"I think if you see the way we get on with the Indian cricket team off the field it's a totally different story. As soon as we walk over that white line we're competitive and we're playing as hard as we possibly can. But I can tell you that off the field there has been some amazing friends formed over the past couple of months. Look, we've got some great mates in the Indian side,” the Daily Telegraph quoted Lee, as saying.

He said he preferred to focus on playing cricket, rather than worry about what would come of complaints made by Indian management.

Lee was reacting to reports of the Indian team having lodged a “provocation” complaint against the Australians with match referee Jeff Crowe immediately after fast bowler Ishant Sharma was fined 15 percent of his match fee for aggressively pointing at Symonds to head towards the pavilion after he was bowled in the last one-dayer between the two sides at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG).
