London - A near-miss with victory over Andy Roddick a year ago has earned Briton Alex Bogdanovic a wild card into next month's Artois Championships, officials announced on Thursday.
The other wild cards joining the number 243 in the grass-court field from June 9 onwards are Jason Goodall of Britain plus Swedish veteran Jonas Bjorkman and Belgian Xavier Malisse.
The field is headed by number two Rafael Nadal, back for the second year, and a pair of four-time champions, Roddick and Lleyton Hewitt.
Bogdanovic showed his potential in 2007 as he stood two points from an upset win over Roddick in the third round.
During the second-set tiebreak, Roddick made a successful appeal to the Hawk-Eye technology over a line call, going onto take the breaker and later the victory in three sets.
Bjorkman once stood fourth in the world and has won all four Grand Slam events in doubles while Malisse is a 2002 Wimbledon semi-finalist. (dpa)
