Buchanan denies reports about helping England prepare plan to retain Ashes

John BuchananMelbourne, Aug 18  Ex-Australian coach John Buchanan, who has joined the England and Wales cricket board as a consultant, has rejected reports that he is helping England prepare their game plan for winning the Ashes series this summer.

England is considering offering Buchanan a long-term consultancy role, but he insists that his role would be more to do with the generic structure of English cricket rather than it being Ashes specific.

“I am not here to tell people how to beat Australia,” The Courier Mail quoted him, as saying.

“I am Australian, and cherish the part I played in the ongoing development of Australian cricket,” he said.

“Just as I am a Queenslander, and so would never be a full-time coach of another domestic team. This may be misguided loyalty,” Buchanan added. (ANI)
