Berlin, Jan 31 : North Korea international and Bochum striker Jong Tae-Se has joined first division Bundesliga football club Cologne with immediate effect.
Jong's entry will help Cologne as starting striker Lukas Podolski will be out of action due to a ligament injury.
"Jong fits exactly into our requirement profile. He is strong in the air and has good finish. We are glad that we could agree on the transfer of Jong with Bochum and that we have gained more quality in the offence," Cologne manager Volker Finke was quoted as saying by Xinhua.
Both sides agreed to maintain silence on contract details.
At his former club Bochum, currently second division, Jong played 39 matches since 2010, scoring 14 goals. His new club Cologne currently sits at 14th position of the first division after a bitter 1-4 loss against Schalke last weekend.
The 27-year-old will wear jersey number nine. (IANS)
