Chennai/Mau, Feb 9 : Indian Formula one racing driver Karun Chandhok has prayed for the speedy recovery of cricketer Yuvraj Singh after the latter was diagnosed with seminoma cancer.
Chandhok urged media to refrain from interfering in Yuvraj's personal life as he recuperates from his ailment in the United States.
"I wish him the best and wish him a speedy recovery and hope that he can get back to play in full time but hopefully he would be allowed to do that in private without the media hounding him and asking him and his family two hundred questions a day. He needs rest and he needs to recover in private," said Chandhok.
Meanwhile, in Uttar Pradesh's Mau District, Congress leader and former Indian cricket captain Mohammed Azharuddin said he is praying for Yuvraj's good health.
"It is very sad. However, I pray to Allah for Yuvraj's health, and all fans of Yuvraj are also praying for his speedy recovery," said Azharuddin.
According to his doctors, Yuvraj would return to training after 10 weeks.
Yuvraj's ailment has triggered a wave of sympathy across cricket-crazy India.
In Chandigarh, his fans wrote `get well soon' messages on a banner.
The 30-year-old southpaw, an architect of India's 2011 World Cup victory, recently denied undergoing surgery, insisting he was on medication for an ailment without disclosing its exact nature.
Singh was declared the player of the World Cup, which India won after a gap of 28 years. (ANI)
