London, July 12 : Chelsea has increased their bid for Tottenham midfielder Luka Modric to 27 million pounds.
The new bid is five million pound increase on Chelsea's previous offer for Modric, but it is highly unlikely to persuade them to sell.
Modric, 25, has threatened to hand in a transfer request if Tottenham do not agree to sell him, The Sun reports.
But there is the chance Manchester rivals City and United could enter the bidding, as Samir Nasri's representative has told both clubs that he is staying at Arsenal, which could see them focus their attentions on Modric.
Mordic is angry with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy for what he says was breaking a promise to let him go if a bigger club came in.
Spurs disputes that there was ever any such deal made when Modric signed his new six-year contract last summer.
A source close to Modric said: "Luka is determined to go. He doesn't see any future at Spurs." (ANI)
