China beat Germany to reach women's hockey final

Beijing - China beat Germany 3-2 in a gripping semi-final to reach the final of the Olympic women's hockey tournament, where they will face either Argentina or the Netherlands.
Gao Lihua, Ma Yibao and Zhao Yudiao scored for China while Germany's goals came from Natascha Keller and Janine Beermann in a match that saw the Chinese fend off a frantic final ten minutes of German attacking.
Argentina and the Netherlands were facing off later Wednesday, while in earlier matches, Spain beat the USA 3-2 after extra time to end the tournament in 7th place, and South Korea beat Japan 2-1 to end 9th. (dpa)
