Christmas fixtures assist rivals Manchester United: Mancini

Christmas fixtures assist rivals Manchester United: ManciniLondon, Dec 27  : Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini has lambasted Premier League officials, claiming that the fixtures around Christmas are favoring their arch rivals Manchester United. Mancini said that he isn’t pleased with the present situation and that City’s fixture list during this period was harsh.

“I''m not happy with the situation and I know it''s for TV but having to play twice in two days when others play every three days is not correct,” said Mancini. He also admitted that the coming weeks are going to be a tough test for his team and urged his players to keep their concentration. “To play twice in 48 hours will make a difference. But we just have to keep our concentration. We know January is important,” said Mancini.

Manchester United will host Blackburn at home on New Years Eve while City will play Sunderland away, a day later. City’s game against Sunderland would be followed by their game against Liverpool, just after two days. Mancini also claimed that Manchester United are getting twenty-four hours more than City to prepare for their next game during the fixtures around New Year. Manchester United now has a chance to take over as league leaders if they manage to beat Blackburn on New Years Eve, The Sun reports. (ANI)
