Cole fighting to save his Chelsea career

Joe ColeLondon, Feb 15 : England star Joe Cole is fighting to save his Chelsea career after suffering the humiliation of being subbed at half-time against Cardiff.

Cole suffered the embarrassment of being taken off at half-time in Chelsea's emphatic 4-1 win over Cardiff City.

With the England star's contract expiring next June, coach Carlo Ancelotti's tactical switch fuelled the belief that Cole will quit Stamford Bridge at the end of this season.

Chelsea coach Ray Wilkins revealed afterwards that the decision was tactical and that there was no injury problem, The Mirror reports.

Wilkins said: "We have a squad full of quality and the manager will change things. Cole has been out injured for a long, long period. At first there are massive highs and Joe has had them out here. But all of a sudden you hit the brick wall." (ANI)
