London, July 15: Spanish soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo has reportedly dumped his model girlfriend Nereida Gallardo, who had begun dreaming of being one of the WAGs and often talked of herself as the new Victoria Beckham. (Join Cristiano Ronaldo Fan Club)
Different reasons have been cited for the break-up.
According to The Sun, Ronaldo is unhappy these days after learning about Nereida’s torrid previous affairs with Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos, and the soccer star’s mother Dolores was unhappy at Nereida’s topless modelling shots, saying she was after her son’s money.
“Dolores thinks Nereida is just after her son’s money. It is understood Dolores is unhappy with topless modelling shots of Nereida,” the paper quoted a family friend as saying.
The family friend further said that mother was especially upset at snaps published recently in The Sun of Nereida in sizzling lesbian-style poses with girl pals in a nightclub toilet.
The split will be a blow to Nereida’s dream to be a top football WAG. “She is devastated. She talked of herself as the new Victoria Beckham,” the paper quoted one of Nereida’s pals as saying.
According to the paper, a jealous Ronaldo (23) ended the relationship after Nereida confessed to a torrid previous affair with Real Madrid defender Sergio Ramos. His close pals said the Portuguese winker had grown “bored” of Spanish beauty
Nereida’s 32D charms.
But Nereida insisted that she was still seeing Ronaldo. “This is all nonsense. I spoke to him today, like always. We are together. He told me he loves me and I him,” she said while rejecting reports about their breakup.
Ronaldo, recovering from surgery on his injured ankle, was pictured smooching with Nereida in Sardinia last month. (ANI)
