London, Mar. 19: Former soccer captain David Beckham has reportedly convinced England coach Fabio Capello that he is fit for duty.
However, according to The Sun, the Los Angeles Galaxy star must wait until Thursday to see if he is in the England squad to face France next week.
Thirty-two-year-old Becks played for 90 minutes on Saturday confirming that he is match-fit. He was watched by Three Lions assistant boss Franco Baldini and backed by L A manager Ruud Gullit.
The 30-man squad for next Wednesday’s friendly will be announced just after noon tomorrow.
Capello has no intention of gifting Beckham his 100th cap — it has to be earned on merit.
But, if Becks does make the 30, he is unlikely to be ditched when the squad is cut down to 23 on Saturday. (ANI)
