Madrid - English giants Chelsea on Monday night announced the signing of Portugal veteran Deco from Barcelona.
Chelsea will pay Barca around 10 million euros (15.79 million dollars) for the 30-year-old midfielder, who has agreed to a three- year contract with the London side.
At Stamford Bridge, Deco will link up again with former Portugal manager Luiz Felipe Scolari.
The Brazil-born midfielder joined Barca in 2004 from FC Porto and won two Spanish Ligas and one Champions League at the Camp Nou.
Deco is the fourth player this summer to leave Barca, after Jose Edmilson (Villarreal), Gianluca Zambrotta (AC Milan) and Giovani Dos Santos (Tottenham).
New Barca coach Josep Guardiola appears keen to offload several other players, including waning stars Ronaldinho and Samuel Eto'o. (dpa)
