Beijing - Top seed Roger Federer faces an uncomfortable first-round tie against Russia's Dmitri Tursunov following the men's Olympic tennis tournament draw made Thursday while main rival Rafael Nadal takes on Potito Starace.
"He hits a hard ball and serves well. I have to be careful against him," said Federer, who will lose his number one seeding to Nadal on August 18.
Nadal's opening task against Starace is slightly easier as the Spaniard has a 4/0 record against the Italian while world number 3 Novak Djokovic of Serbia faces American Robby Ginepri.
Federer also counted Cincinnati Masters winner Andy Murray alongside himself, Nadal and Djokovic as possible tournament winners but the Briton has a tough task if he is to win a medal.
Murray opens against Taiwan's Lu Yen-Hsun but would face Rafael Nadal in the quarter-finals and possibly Djokovic in the last four. (dpa)
