Vishakhapatnam, Feb 3 : Subramaniam Badrinath and Manish Pandey put South Zone in a strong position on the second day of the Duleep Trophy final against North Zone here Thursday.
Badrinath was unbeaten on 97 and Pandey 74 as South Zone, replying to North's first innings total of 337, reached a commanding 268/3.
Badrinath and Bodapati Sumanth (21) were at the crease.
Badrinath, known for his solid technique, forged a 136-run stand with Pandey, who hit five sixes in his attacking knock.
Barring medium-pacer Sumit Narwal's effort of two for 57, none of the North Zone bowlers failed to make an impact.
Earlier, North Zone added 71 runs to his overnight score with Paras Dogra smashing 167, hitting 20 fours and sending five over the ropes.(IANS)
