Dunga criticises referee for not penalizing ‘cheat’ Keita

Carlos DungaLondon, Jun 21 : Brazilian coach Dunga has criticized French referee Stephane Lannoy over Kaka’s red card, following a tricky acting by Ivory Coast player Kader Keita.

Keita ran into Kaka after 88 minutes of Brazil’s 3-1 win and collapsed in a heap, conning the referee into flashing a second yellow to the Real Madrid ace.

“It was a totally unjustified sending-off. Kaka was fouled and he was the one punished and given a yellow card. It seems a player who commits the foul is not given anything but the player fouled is sent off. I must congratulate Keita for that,” Dunga said.

The Brazilians will ask FIFA to examine the case, even though they have no right to appeal the controversial decision as it was for a second bookable offence and not a straight red card, The Sun reports.

“We will think about talking to FIFA. There are hundreds of TV cameras and everyone saw what happened,” a spokesman said.

Infuriated by the Africans’ physical approach which also saw Elano end up being carried off on a stretcher, the Brazilian coach said: “We played much better than them and received more yellow cards than them but without committing serious fouls.

“It was a very physical game, many fouls committed. But it has to be controlled. We must know what is good and what is unacceptable.” (ANI)
